Role

The role of the Middle School Minister exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ within the middle school age group through: (1) equipping volunteers to love others and make disciples, (2) creating and teaching curriculum that is gospel-centered and age-appropriate, and (3) assisting with weekly and annual events that provide opportunities for students to grow in their love of God and others. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent ministerial presence and care in the lives of middle schoolers at TVC.
  • Provide vision and direction for the Middle School Ministry alongside the Minister, Student Director.
  • Assist in executing the Student Ministry’s weekly programming, retreats, and events. 
  • Recruit, onboard, and care for male Middle School Ministry volunteer leaders.
  • Create theologically-sound and age-appropriate curriculum for middle schoolers.
  • Provide ministerial presence at weekend services and other TVC events and gatherings.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Agree with The Village Church’s Expectations of Membership, Statement of Faith, and commit to exhibit a lifestyle that is consistent with the same
  • Bachelor’s degree, required
  • Seminary degree, preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of middle schoolers’ developmental stages 
  • Ministry experience, preferred
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and dependability
