TVC Responsibilities:
I oversee Care Groups, meet with Recovery and Care leaders for equipping, encouragement, and Care needs. I meet with members, non-members, and staff to help navigate and pray through Care-related challenges of life. I periodically teach in Recovery and other spaces.
When and how did the Lord save you?
I believe the Lord grabbed my heart at a church camp when I was a child through the teaching of the Parable of the Lost Sheep. I didn’t fully understand it and had no real discipleship, but each time I would open the Bible, I would flip to that story. Like the sheep, I did wander, and He did come for me. Then through some serious confession and repentance, our relationship blossomed and continues to do so today.
When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
The Lord called our family out of the church we had been attending for 10 years and planted us at The Village Church in 2016. He had some deep work to do in my heart, my marriage, and my family. He chose TVC to be one of the places He would accomplish that work.
If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
“The Art of Sandwich Assembly.” While the bread you choose is likely the most important choice you make with your sandwich, proper assembly thereafter could make or break your sandwich dining experience.
If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
I remember as a very little child seeing the milkman drop off our milk. It seemed to be a really fun job to have. Sometimes, it’s good when dreams don’t come true. Or, was that some sort of metaphor for what I am actually doing now? Only the Lord knows.
Which fictional character would you be friends with in real life, and why?
Winnie the Pooh. I, too, really enjoy honey!
